Jeremiah Chaney

Well hello there 👋 Thanks for visiting. My name is Jeremiah but I often go by “Jae”. I’m currently working as a Senior Product Designer at an AI software company called ASAPP here in the heart of NYC.

My journey into design has been somewhat of an unconventional one. I’ve been drawn to art, design, photography, architecture, and music since I was a kid. After high school, I bought a one-way plane ticket to south west China and had enough money in my pocket to survive for about 2-3 months. I studied Mandarin, “taught” ESL, biked in the Himalayan foothills and the next thing I know 3 years went by. In an attempt to continue my pursuit of trying to “make sense” of life, I returned to the US and happened to land in the live music capital - Austin, TX. After working various jobs at restaurants, hotels, and even short stint painting homes, I reluctantly decided to take a few art and design classes at the local community college. I was genuinely shocked at how much I enjoyed the work and often found myself wondering why I stopped drawing like I did in my younger years. I continued to pursue a degree in graphic and interactive design before quitting school to take a Junior UI/UX job at a small Austin design agency (RIP Electrik.co).

Fast forward to the present day and I’ve now been designing for 7-8 years. I’ve worked in various roles doing marketing, branding, and service design in addition to B2C, B2B and enterprise software products. It’s been a wild ride but I’m incredibly grateful and fortunate to be doing what I am doing.

Outside of work I’m a proud dad to a rescue puppers’ named Fiona who has brought so much joy to my life. I love experiencing the beauty and wonder of nature and spending time outdoors but I equally love music, concerts, cooking and exploring the great restaurants of New York City.
